11/27/2023 0 Comments Redline toolbox![]() Choosing the wrong document format will only delay the contract redlining and negotiation process.” Always send redlines in an editable formatĪccording to Alnajafi, “Contracts should be exchanged in an editable electronic format. Neither of these options are efficient and can waste a lot of valuable time that could otherwise be spent in substantive negotiations. You’re left to either accept the document as-is or manually track changes during the negotiation and replicate everyone’s efforts when you incorporate the agreed-upon revisions into the final contract. In either case, you just get a frustrating, read-only document. (Not a very good starting point for commercial relationships that are dependent upon trust and cohesion.) Both of these actions communicate the not-so-subtle message that you are not invited to redline the document. Or the reviewer uses lock tracking in MS Word to prevent you from making changes to the document. The contract reviewer uses track changes to redline their suggestions but sends them to you in a static PDF or locked document. The read-only aspect of PDF redlines is probably the biggest driver of redline rage. I can almost hear the collective groans now. Let’s explore four redline rage-inducing faux pas, how to solve them through smarter redlining practices, and then look at how technology can help us to prevent them in the first place. With these tips, we can learn to stop redline rage for our sanity, but also for better and more efficient contract negotiations. There is no other book that can give you tools focused specifically on redlining contracts.” Plus, according to negotiation expert Kwame Christian, this book is “a must-read for anybody looking to develop a major competitive advantage. ![]() It is required reading for anyone who wants to redline more effectively for fewer negotiation conflicts and clearer contracts. Redlining becomes a conversation - a negotiation.” Alnajafi refers to this as, “smarter redlining.”Ĭontract Redlining Etiquette is the first and only uniform set of rules and best practices around contract redlining. Imagine a world where people stop hiding changes and sending unnecessary markups. When done correctly, it can actually be fun. “Believe it or not, redlining doesn’t have to be a headache. In her new book, Contract Redlining Etiquette ™, in-house attorney and founder of the Contract Nerds blog, Nada Alnajafi, describes several ways we can solve redline rage. Corporate lawyers and contracts professionals also know about “redline rage” - a peeved and aggrieved feeling you get when others fail to use redlines appropriately during contract negotiations. We’ve all heard about drivers succumbing to “road rage” when another driver cuts them off in traffic.

11/27/2023 0 Comments Metals lost to timeThere has to be a process which sends dissolved iron away from the steel object while sending a cementing chemical into the steel object. If you have alloys and zinc coatings and paint, that can aid against the blurring effect of rust, so a zinc or vanadium steel will give the mud and sand more time to become a fixed barrier against the steel. The trouble is that ferrous oxide cakes up so the boundary of the original object is chemically and physically blurry. The best chance if the oxydation process leaves a hollow shell which can become a mold for another mineral. In total, the answer appears to be eons, but few objects will find suitable conditions, and the best place to look will be on Mars. ![]() But these are continuously moving away from the solar system, so while preserved, won't leave any fossils to find. In particular: Voyager 1 & 2, Pioneer 10 & 11, New Horizons. Similarly, several of the outer planet probes may last for extreme time scales since they will be in vacuum, cold, and safe from major collisions. The Philae comet lander may be similarly preserved, though comets tend to crash into planets after a few million years. They are also likely to become buried in dust blown by the Martian wind. Objects on Mars stand a good chance of lasting for long time scales, since they are not exposed to air or water, and are kept cold with little thermal cycling. The longest lasting may be those boosted into graveyard orbits standard geosynchronous satellite graveyard orbit results in an expected orbital lifetime of millions of years. This is the case for satellites, although most satellites orbits are not entirely stable. If, however, a reactive metal object is kept well away from oxygen and water it may last much longer. These " native metals" particularly include copper, gold, silver and platinum-group metals (see link for a full list). ![]() Some elemental metals can be found in nature, which is an indication that under some conditions they could be found as fossils. Some surface treatments such as anodization can extend this time, but will eventually fail. Similarly, aluminum reacts with oxygen rapidly and is hardly ever (but not never) found in nature as an elemental metal. Zinc-steal in contact with fresh water corrodes at a rate of at least 10 mm/year, which would rapidly destroy it over large time scales.Īnother way of looking at it is that basically all iron on Earth is found in the form of iron oxide, so iron compounds do not tend to stay oxidized over large time scales. That rate of corrosion will eat through 100 meters of metal in a million years. For industrial use, with "Excellent Corrosion Resistance" being less than 0.1 mm of corrosion progression per year. This includes Hastalloy, which is one of the most corrosion resistant forms of steel and for that reason is commonly used in nuclear power plants. There's a very nice table here of the rates of corrosion progression for a few types of steel alloy. But under most conditions, reactive metals like steel and aluminum would react away through multiple different corrosive mechanisms listed here. Whether the steel artifact its self lasts for eons depends on the specifics of the metal and the chemical and thermal conditions it encounters. So in that sense they can easily leave fossils. Metal objects certainly would leave impressions in the surrounding material, as well as oxides. Advanced communications systems gave the captain and duty officer an opportunity to monitor all of the ship's systems. When we speak of a fossil, we don't usually mean a preserved object, but rather a preserved trace of an object, like it's impression in other material. Installed between the hold's compartments were the electrical bulkheads, which closed when water was detected. A pair of three-bladed side and four-bladed central propellers gave the ship an acceleration of 42 km / h. Two steam engines and a turbine caused a 55,000 l / s output. The Titanic comprised the most advanced technology. The height from the keel to the top of the mast is 56 meters, which is approximately the height of a modern 20-storey building. Its length was 269 meters, an approximate equivalent of three football fields, while its width was 28 meters. Regardless of the terrible accident that caused the disaster, the Titanic is worthy of admiration as shipbuilders' most perfect creation of the early 20th century.Īt the time of its launch, it was the biggest passenger steamer. The "Olympic" class ship bore the name "Titanic" and turned out to symbolize the superiority of the forces of nature over the human mind. The most innovative ship ever constructed by a human engineering genius crashed with an iceberg and sank, killing 1,517 passengers and crew. On a calm moonless night on 15th April 1912, the most renowned sea disaster in history happened 600 kilometers away from Newfoundland. 11/27/2023 0 Comments Bear lights out real tree bow![]() As he had a flyting with the Gods, he publicly told each and every Æsir and Vanir of their most immoral, embarrassing sins proving that they were as bad (if not worse) as he was. ![]() Not only were many Gods jealous of Loki's close bond with Odin and Thor, but also of him being naturally gifted in his magical abilities of shapeshifting, artifice and machiavellian intelligence which made him able to solve numerous problems that no other God could.Įventually, Loki had a falling out with the Norse Gods when he orchestrated Höðr killing Baldr with a mistletoe arrow. In Asgard, Loki had a very mixed reputation. After this event, Loki journeyed back to Asgard with Odin and formed a close comradeship with another Æsir God, Thor, who he would journey together with on many legendary adventures with. The two Gods formed a strong bond with one another as they mixed their blood together in an oath of loyalty, making them blood-brothers. While the exact circumstances of Loki meeting Odin is unknown, it most likely happened while the latter wandered across the Nine Realms. Eventually, Loki would later marry the Goddess Sigyn, and together, they had two sons named Váli and Narfi. One day, Loki met the female Jötunn, Angrboða in the Ironwoods and together they had three children: the Giant wolf Fenrir, the World Serpent Jörmungandr and the half-dead/half-living Goddess, Hel. Loki's mischiefs varies from loony antics to prophesied apocalypses as he is the main reason for starting Ragnarök. Loki is the willy trickster God who is neither good nor evil as he both helps and causes problems across the Nine Realms. With his father's acceptance of his son's true identity, Loki would thus leave for his next adventure. As Fimbulwinter ends, Atreus makes his way through the survivors to tell Angrboda and his father that he is going explore the lands outside of the Nine Realms hoping to find the rest of the Giants. As Atreus wonders about his heritage, he also learns that his mother gave him the birth name ' Loki'.ĭuring Fimbulwinter, Atreus seeks answers about his Jötunn heritage, something Kratos cannot answer. The candy bar, agglomerating a variety of flavors and textures-almost always including chocolate-in one piece, was a purely American invention, and it’s still not one hundred years old. Not until the 1840s did a British firm, Fry and Sons, make the first chocolate bar. ![]() Spanish royalty drank a cold, sweetened beverage made from the beans, but they liked it so much they kept it a secret from the rest of Europe for the remainder of the century.
